Hi all
Great to see people down at the sundowner last night, was a great turnout seeing many faces familiar and new alike.
With the registration period now being open I wanted to touch on one thing that is new this year which is the capitation.
In the past the capitation has been incorporated directly into our fees meaning rowers did not have to pay them upfront. Sadly however, this year Rowing WA has made it so that rowers have to pay for them upon registration, this capitation is essentially a registration fee to Rowing WA, paying for third person liability insurance, maintenance of the river/champion lakes etc.
As this is now an upfront cost compared to in the past we understand that there may be delays to registering this year. As registrar I would like to ask that all rowers are registered at least one full week prior to racing, this allows for time for you to be processed in rowing WA’s system and ensures everyone can race.
For the masters this would mean that I would like for you to have registered by the 8th of March.
For pennant rowers we would like you to register by the 30 of March.
Novices we will give you a little bit more time to settle into the club and would like you to register by the 12th of April.
Any questions RE this new process, payment plans etc please do not hesitate to message either myself or our lovely treasurer Harry. Cheers, look forward to seeing everyone on the water.
